The World Famous “Kool Kat” Finally Ties the Knot

(SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA) – Leo the Kool Kat, the celebrated star of cat artist Don Roth’s “Kool-Kat Kollection,” has finally married his true love in Roth’s latest piece, now on sale at www.Kool-Kats.com.

“There were a lot of requests for this painting,” Roth said. “I’m glad this one is finally in the collection.”

Fans finally got their wish with “Tropical Katrimony,” which shows Leo getting married to Lea, who has been featured in several paintings in the cat art collection.

Those who enjoy Roth’s work will appreciate this piece, which carries several inside references to previous cat paintings.

“The mouse emulates whatever the Kool-Kat is doing, so we have him and another mouse getting married. It’s a group wedding that way,” Roth said. “In the last five to six paintings in the series, I added dogs to the formula, so I thought it would be fun to have dogs and cats in the wedding ceremony.”

The “Kool-Kat” series has been seen on Princess and Carnival cruise ship auctions. Roth said he felt “Tropical Katrimony” would make the perfect gift for newlyweds or those celebrating an anniversary, especially if that celebration will be on the high seas.

Roth has been heralded as the “Norman Rockwell of Cats.” His website, www.Kool-Kats.com, showcases his cat paintings and dog paintings.

Painting VS Photo Portraits - Why Paintings Are Superior For Posterity Or Memorializing

When a person thinks of a family portrait, getting dressed up and heading out to a department store picture studio is what many people oftentimes expect. There is an alternative which has become more and more popular in recent years. Having an artist paint the portrait, rather than just relying on the same old passé photographer, is an original and creative method of capturing the essence of family and friends.

Most individuals do not pay much attention to art much less being considered an art connoisseur. Once in a while, however, a particular painting or print catches the eye. What can even be more interesting is having a work of art created especially for the home.

People do not need to be the only focus of a portrait. Pets are a popular subject as well. One quite unique subject matter and sometimes considered with humor is having a portrait of a family's loved and cherished pet. Even though to some it may seem silly, the purpose for having a picture of your loved ones is not for anyone else, but yourself. There are a few artists who excel in creating true works of art with this particular subject matter.

The advantage of having an artist craft a personal work of art is that there is freedom to customize the entire composition. With this freedom, any variety of scenarios can be portrayed which captures the essence of the subject. While a cherished pet, such as a cat, is undoubtedly cute, the personification of the pet can add a truly unique, mesmerizing and entertaining work of art.

Animal portraits or caricatures can make an excellent gift for a family member or friend. Of course gift certificates or a trip to the movies can serve as presents as well, but show very little thought. While generic gifts such as these are perfectly acceptable for casual friends and acquaintances, relatives and best friends deserve so much more.

A good way to develop a scene for a pet portrait is to connect with a personal interest or hobby. An example of this would be if an individual skydives for enjoyment, perhaps a portrait of their cat with goggles and a parachute rig strapped to its back in freefall would be humorous and at the same time make that special connection with the owner.

The importance of this may go unrecognized by many, but what if the cat has passed away? This would serve as a gentle reminder for the owner and honor the owner's memory and love for their loved one while at the same time providing a smile and fond memories for years to come.
